MATTHEW 7:24-27

Being a follower of Christ does not immune you from the storms of life. God never promised a life without storms, but what He promised is that even in the midst of it, he will be there. He will never leave us nor forsake us.

The question is what do you do during the storm? Do you act like the disciples in the boat who had no faith even if Jesus was in the boat with them they were faithless and afraid, or like Martha who questioned Jesus’ loyalty to her brother even if she was aware of the works Jesus had done, or rather like David who had confidence in God to help him overcome the giant Goliath or Abraham who trusted God to have a child at the age of 120.

One common factor that will sustain us in the time of storm is our faith in the word of God. Taking the word and holding on to it as our anchor during the storm.

The scripture says the flower fades the grass withers but the word of the Lord is forever.

The word of the Lord is our sure foundation in times of storm, it does not fail and it cannot change.

In Matthew 7:24-27, the storm came for both the man who built on the rock and the one who built on sand. What made them distinct was the foundation that they were built on. The word of God is the sure foundation to stand on because it cannot sink, even in the most turbulent situation.

Take the word of God, read it, meditate on it and live it out. Let it be your daily practice until it becomes your lifestyle. This will guarantee you victory amid the storm.
